One of the most frequently asked questions among customers of this online store is about what pot size they should choose for their plants.

If a few days ago we were talking to you about the different materials a planter can have, in Gardenweb's new article we give you a guide on what pot size some of the most commonly planted vegetables, greens, and fruits in terrace or garden orchards require.

Plants with small roots: What pot should I choose?

Below, we will recommend different container models depending on the small-rooted crop you have in your garden or on your terrace:

CC Container

The CC container is one of the most economical pots we have at Gardenweb and is characterized by being functional and aesthetic. Among its different sizes, we recommend the 1 to 3-liter CC for small plants such as garlic, leeks, radishes, and lamb's lettuce. We have CC pots available in both terracotta and black.

Basic container

The basic container is one of the best-selling planters for professionals as it is an economical, very functional, and attractive model. For plants like lettuce, lamb's lettuce, endives, and peas, we recommend the 5-liter planter with a diameter of 20 centimeters.

Below, we will recommend different planter models depending on the type of medium-rooted crop you are going to plant in your urban garden:

DECON, an economical and decorative pot

The DECON pot is a production tub that arose from the need of professional growers who were looking for a planter that was both economical and decorative. Although there is a wide variety of sizes, we recommend the 15-liter and 25-liter DECON for plants in your urban garden such as any cruciferous vegetable (cabbage, arugula, cauliflower, etc.), tomatoes, chard, and celery. These types of plants usually need pots with approximately ∅30 diameter and between 15 and 25 liters.

Other pots for medium roots

In addition to the previous models, we also recommend other economical pots for these plants:

  • Carrot: requires a container with ∅10 and 2 liters. In this case, we recommend the tall sand pot of ∅17 and 2.5 liters.

  • Zucchini and eggplant: in these two cases, planters with ∅40 and 30 liters are needed. The most appropriate model for these two plants is the 30-liter tub with handles.
