Do you know what tying machines are used for in agriculture?
If we have crops that need staking with bamboo canes, this tool allows us to simplify fieldwork thanks to the speed of tying, which requires minimal physical effort from the farmer. It’s a way to replace laborious and heavy manual tying with a faster and more efficient method (in fact, it increases efficiency by more than 70%). If you want to know more about the use of these tying machines, we recommend that you continue reading this Gardenweb post.
What are tying machines for?
Plantations that are tied to stakes or wires are diverse and range from vines, tomatoes, cucumbers... to smaller crops that need reinforcing or support. For this reason, many farmers opt for tying tapes and other tying articles to reinforce these types of plants and crops.
Currently, many tying machines are sold on the market, but we have opted for the Tapetool J99 tying machine because it is economical, lightweight (around 500 grams), and speeds up tying. It can perform up to 30 ties per minute. It is also easy to maneuver and hold.
For this machine, we also have the specific tapes and staples (as well as other related tools) essential for its correct use and maintenance.
How to prepare the Tapetool J99 machine?
Below, we will explain step-by-step how to prepare the tying machine before staking crops with bamboo canes:
1. First of all, remember to buy tape and staples that are suitable for the Tapetool J99. We recommend both SIMES tying tape and the staples from our online store as they are compatible with this tying machine.
2. Once everything is ready, first you will have to install the staples in the machine: to do this, press the lever and pull the pusher back until it comes out.
3. Now insert the staples into the slot with the points facing upwards and reposition the pusher as it was. Part of the tapetool machine will now be ready.
4. After putting in the staples, it will be time to install the tying tape: to do this, open the two lower green plastic parts of the machine. In the circular area, insert the tying tape so that its tip faces upwards. (PHOTOS A and B)

5. Now take this tip and extend it through the other elongated green plastic area (PHOTO C). Like any stapler, the machine has a guillotine to staple and join the tape (PHOTO D). To finish preparing the tapetool J199, you will have to insert the tape through this slot and it will be ready to tie bamboo canes or other supports to plants.
