How to germinate lemon seeds in soil
To germinate lemon seeds in soil, you will need to follow these steps:
-
In a pot or seedbed (that has drainage holes), you will need to prepare seed compost, such as pasteurized soil, to prevent the appearance of bacteria. You can also add a little coconut fiber to provide better drainage to the substrate.
-
Now water the soil to moisten it and stir it meanwhile so that the moisture is homogeneous.
-
Make a few holes in the soil with your fingers and add the lemon seeds. However, it is important to wash them beforehand to remove all traces of organic matter.
-
Now cover the pot (or seedbed) with a layer of clear film. However, remember to make some holes in it first so that the soil retains its moisture but can breathe.
-
Leave the pot in a warm place but out of direct sunlight.
Now all you have to do is wait for the seeds to grow. Remember to water the soil if you notice it is dry.
How to germinate lemon seeds in water
Although the previous method is more recommended, lemon seeds can also be germinated in water. Follow these steps:
-
Clean and remove all organic residues that the seeds may have, as in the previous method.
-
Then place them in a glass or jar with water to soak. It is advisable to change the water every day to prevent the appearance of harmful bacteria.
-
Wait about a week and you will notice how the seed has gained volume.
-
At this point, you will need to plant it in a pot or seedbed so that it sprouts its first seedling.
Organic lemon tree: how to plant it in your own garden

Once you have the seedlings, in one way or another, we recommend transplanting them to their final location between March and September. To do this, follow these steps:
-
Plant the lemon tree (either in the ground or in a pot) in a warm and sunny spot. If you live in a very sunny area, it is advisable to look for a spot with semi-shade.
-
Transplant carefully so as not to damage the plant's roots, covering them with soil so that the seedling remains upright and its roots are well covered.
-
Water the transplant 2 to 3 times a week until the seedlings have their 4 complete leaves. At that point, you will need to space out the waterings a bit more.
